DIY Serial LCD!

LCDs are great, but they require a whole mess of digital pins to be used on a microcontroller. This circuit uses a common 74HC595 shift register to reduce the necessary number of pins to a manageable three! Now you can have all that serial LCD functionality by adding a two dollar component!
